About the Author

David Clark Brand was born in Akron, Ohio. He holds the B.A. degree from the College of Wooster, M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary, and Th.M. from Westminster Theological Seminary. Brand has pastored churches in Washington state, Ohio, New Jersey, and Virginia, and has taught religious studies on the college level. In 1991 the American Academy of Religion published his his Th. M. Thesis as part of its Academy Series through Scholars Press under the title of Profile of the Last Puritan: Jonathan Edwards, Self-Love, and the Dawn of the Beatific. He and his wife have four grown children and reside in central Ohio.
